Description
Join us to experience two jewels of the chamber music repertoire, works of magnificent craftsmanship born of friendships between the composer and a virtuoso of the clarinet.
Mozart’s radiant Clarinet Quintet was written for his friend Anton Stadler. The blissful poetry of its slow Larghetto is unsurpassed.
Written nearly a century later, Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet is the perfect compliment. The clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld tempted Brahms out of self-imposed retirement, giving us this richly coloured, elegiac and passionate work.
